EditGrid is an online spreadsheet service with real-time update and extensive collaboration features and a good Web 2.0 counterpart of Microsoft Excel or OpenOffice Calc. EditGrid is not really the web version of Excel, infact it is robust web-based spreadsheet application. Its Real-Time Update (RTU) feature allows multiple users to see changes on a spreadsheet immediately. Its Remote Data feature can retrieve live data on the web, while its My Data Format (MDF) feature allows users to customise the output format. EditGrid is free to use. EditGrid is a strong companion of Google Spreadsheets and Documents. EditGrid can be reffered as a free alternative to Microsoft Office. EditGrid is compatible with all common spreadsheet formats including Excel, CSV, Open Office, Gnumeric, and Lotus. EditGrid supports spreadsheet formatting, multiple sheets per workbook and much more.
