No More Hassle Of Paging On Google Now

Posted by admin on 27th April 2007

An average Googler would probably spend some time navigating through pages in Google, but not anymore, thanks to Google Auto Pager and Google Image Auto Pager. These two are Greasemonkey script for firefox which saves you from the hassle of paging through search results. Google Auto Script automatically attach the next set of results of your queries to the bottom of the page. That means you don’t have to hit the next button after navigating to the end of the results.
Similarly, when you do a google images search and scroll down towards the bottom of search results, this script will seamlessly retrieve the next set of images, display them on the same page and rewrite all the links to point directly to origin images.

You can install the Google Auto pager and Google Images Auto Pager Userscript from
http://userscripts.org/scripts/source/8430.user.js and
http://userscripts.org/scripts/source/8433.user.js respectively.

And then to activate these script you just have to do a doubleclick anywhere on the page http://www.google.com and http://images.google.com, another doubleclick will turns off the script.

Firefox Extensions to be avoided

Posted by admin on 25th April 2007

Firefox allows almost anyone with minimal coding experience to create plugins and addons to make Firefox much better. But this sort of thing can lead to the greatest browser worse.
Stability, performance or security flaws are some important criteria which should be kept in mind while choosing a firefox extension. Here is a list of 10 avoidable firfox extensions:

1. FasterFox: This extension can lead to an incredible waste of bandwidth. The idea behind this is that if you are reading a page, while your system is idle, Fasterfox silently starts following links and downloading the destination pages. This will result in a total waste of bandwidth.

2. NoScript: This extension generally work as a advetiser. You can whitelist the sites you think are safe, and can also blacklist those who are not safe according to you. But for the average Web surfer this extension is not recommended at all.

3. Adblock: This extension attempts to block all online advertising. This extensions are not good for online publishers.

4. PDF Download: This extension allows PDF files to open in the external PDF viewer of their choice rather than the Adobe Reader plug-in for Firefox. But the problem with this extension is that it does not work when some websites redirects you to the PDF for tracking purpose.

5. VideoDownloader: The problem is that the extension has to connect to a Web site in order to work which is again a big problem in it.

6. Greasemonkey: If you are not familiar enough with JavaScript then just skip this extension.

7. Scribefire: This extension is a browser-based tool for writing blog posts. Most blogs already have a browser-based editor, so there is no need use this extension.

8. Trackmenot: This extension runs in the background while you surf, and sends search queries to Yahoo, Google and some other seach engines which is just a waste of time and resources.

9. Tabbrowser Preferences: This extension does not reset your tab settings, which this extension let you tweak after installing it, after uninstalling this extension.

10. Tabbrowser Extension: The developers of this extension suggest not to install it. So, you should skip this extension also.

FAUXTO- A online image editor

Posted by admin on 24th April 2007

Fauxto is the most advanced photoshop like online image editor which is available online. You can edit any image electronically using software applications such as Adobe Photoshop. But installing a software like Photoshop has two problems- (i) it consumes lot of memory & (ii) it is not free at all. You can give online image editing tools like ‘fauxto’ a thought if you are not that serious in image editing. Basic features of fauxto includes Cropping, Rotating, Resizing, Pencil, Brush, Smudge, Text etc. There is also a special feature included in it which is ‘layer’. One major missing feature in Fauxto is the built-in printing function. If you don’t have the megabucks and megabytes for Photoshop, give Fauxto a try. Fauxto is a new player in this heavily crowded market of online photo editors but with a difference,

Why Firefox is better than Internet Explorer??

Posted by admin on 21st April 2007

Even putting security vulnerabilities aside, Firefox is a superior and secure browser rather than internet explorer.Do u want to know in what respect firefox and all other Mozilla-based products are more secure rather than the internet explorer. Here is a list of some reasons that supports my saying:

1) Firefox not bloated like IE, and it loads sites more quickly rather than IE.
2) Firefox perform much better then IE in displaying multilingual text.
3) Popup blocking: Firefox’s built in popup blocker is able to close all popup windows while the page loaded and during the page’s onload() event.
4) Download manager: It allow you to manipulate and take control of your downloaded files.
5) Tabbed browsing: Browsing in multiple tabs is better than browsing in multiple windows as it saves RAM and lets your computer operates faster.
6) Firefox Extension: Firefox extensions are generally used to add functions to the browser. Examples of functions which an extension might add are RSS readers, bookmark organizers, FTP, toolbars, e-mail, debbugging tools etc.
